The Andhra Pradesh High Court (HC) issued an order to Ms. Vidadala Rajini, the Health Minister of Andhra Pradesh.

Issued on the 27th of December, Tuesday, the notice was in view of non objection certificate (NOC) issued for the granite mining in Andhra Pradesh.  Besides Ms. Vidadala Rajini, the HC issued notice to 21 others in this matter.

The court notice came after Mr. Makkena Nagarathnam and 64 others moved the High Court against the NOC issued for granite mining to 8 companies.  The petitioners alleged that Ms. Vidadala Rajini, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Minister, issued the NOCs allowing granite mining in an extant of 90 acres land in Murikipudi Village of Chilakaluripet Mandal, Palnadu district, Andhra Pradesh.  The petitioners also said that to grant the permission and issue NOCs, Ms. Vidadala Rajini did not conduct any jurisdiction of the land and did not follow any law and process for the same.

The petitioners also mentioned that the 8 companies which were given NOCs are close people of the Andhra Pradesh Health Minister.   Furthermore, the petitioners also claimed that they received threats from the district Tehsildar and police, asking them to surrender their land for granite mining.

After hearing the arguments and issues of petitioners, the Andhra Pradesh High Court asked Ms. Vidadala Rajini and 21 others to file an affidavit reply and explain the allegations.

With this the Andhra Pradesh HC adjourned the matter until the next hearing, after three weeks.
