Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha stated that no officials were troubled during the previous TDP government, contrasting the current situation where, she alleged, officials are facing problems due to their misdeeds under the YSRCP regime. Speaking to the media in Vijayawada following the arrest of former intelligence chief PSR Anjaneyulu, Anitha highlighted the differences between the two governments’ approaches to governance and law enforcement.
She recalled that even while in opposition, the TDP faced numerous cases but did not target officials. Anitha accused the former YSRCP government of initiating destruction by demolishing public halls and filing false cases against TDP leaders, including incidents where women were threatened. She also alleged that former Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy used the CID to harass political opponents.
Anitha emphasized that the current government is taking legal and transparent action against those who committed wrongdoings during the previous regime. She urged the YSRCP to reflect on why several officials associated with their rule are now facing legal trouble. Referring to past events, she mentioned that due to Jagan’s leadership, officials like Srilakshmi had been jailed. She further added that the door delivery murder case is being re-investigated based on the request of driver Subrahmanyam’s parents.
