AP SEC Likely To Hold Local BOdy Elections In 2021 February

State Election Commissioner Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar made a crucial statement regarding the conduct of local body elections in Andhra Pradesh.

According to sources, the Andhra Pradesh local body elections would be held in Andhra Pradesh in February 2021.

The Election Commission announced the decision after discussions with all political parties in the state.

Speaking on the occasion, state election commissioner Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar said that there were no legal issues for the panchayat elections. These are elections that take place outside the parties. He said that coronavirus cases in the AP also decreased, with the number of corona cases dropping from 10,000 to 753.

Mr. Nimmagadda said it was possible due to the steps taken by the State Government.

The SEC Nimmagadda Ramesh said that GHMC elections are also being held in Telangana and the conduct of elections is a constitutional requirement. He said the election code was not in force at present and would come into force 4 weeks before the elections. Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar suggested that the government, political parties and officials should make arrangements in view of the elections.
