The Andhra Pradesh Government, on the 6th of March, announced to conduct the Local bodies elections in the State in the month of March.
The municipal elections would be divided in two phases and the election notification for the same would be released on the 7th of March.
The Zila Parishad Territorial Constituency (ZPTC) and Mandal Parishad Territorial Constituency (MPTC) elections are scheduled to be held on the 21st and 24th of March, in two phases.
The Municipal elections of the State is scheduled to be held on the 27th of March.
The counting of the ZPTC, MPTC and Municipal elections would be held on the 29th of March.
The candidates who wish to file their nomination are asked to file their papers betwen 9th of March to the 11th of March and scrutiny of the nominations is scheuduled on the 12th of March.
One can withdraw their nominations till te 14th of March 3:00 P.M.
After the scrutiny, the election officers would announced the final list of candidates on the 5:00 P.M., on the 14th of March.
The second phase of the ZPTC and MPTC elections, which is scheduled on the 24th of March would accept nominations from the 12th of March to the 14th of March.
The nominations scrutiny would be held on the 15th of March and the date for withdrawal of the nominations is scheduled till 3:00 P.M., on the 17th of March.
Speaking about the municipal elections, the notification would be released on the 13th of March, nominations would be accepted from the 15th of March to 17th of March. The nominations would be considered on the 18th of March and the withdrawal is accepted till the 20th of March at 3:00 P.M.
The municipal elections are scheduled on the 27th of March and results of all the ZPTC. MPTC and Municipal elections would be announced on the 29th of March.
The major parties contesting the elections are the grand alliance of the JanaSena Party and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP,) the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) and the Telugu Desam Party.
