In Andhra Pradesh’s Guntur district, a woman was duped of Rs. 13 lakhs, confirmed the police on the 6th of June, Tuesday.
Getting into the details, the woman, a resident of Gunture, approached a fake swamy for her problems and was duped of Rs. 13 lakhs. She went to the swamy, seeking remedy for the burning of pictures of God in her house.
Against this backdrop, the fake swamy who lied to the woman, collected Rs.13 lakhs from her. After a few days, the woman belatedly realised that she had been cheated and when she asked to return the money taken from her, the followers of Swamy threatened her saying that they will file an atrocity case against the woman.
The victim approached the Guntur police and registered a case against the swamy. The details and identity of the swamy and the woman is yet to be revealed.
Furthermore, a case has been registered and launched an investigation.
