Mr. T. Raja Singh, the Goshamahal Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) and the suspended Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, once again made a controversial remark,
This time, the BJP leader T. Raja Singh said, “The He one who dons a tilak (mark on forehead) he is my brother, he is a Hindu, he is my friend. I will only befriend him. And my sisters, don’t befriend a burqa-clad woman.”
The remarks were made during an event in Adilabad when Mr. T. Raja Singh saw a burqa clad Muslim woman, present there and suggested that Hindu women should not befriend with burkqa clad women. Adding to the controversial statement, the suspended BJP MLA said, “There was a time when we only had the threat of Aftab, but now Aisha has also become a threat.” He cited a video that has gone viral on social media, in which a girl named Ayesha makes Hindu girls meet Muslims boys. Citing that video, T. Raja Singh said, “So, we should beware of them.”
This is not the first time Mr. Raja Singh had made such controversial remarks, disturbing the communal harmony. Earlier in 2022 August, the BJP MLA from Goshamahal constituency made a derogatory remark against Muslim Prophet Mohammad. In a response to the Telangana Government, who allowed stand up comedian Munawar Faruqui to hold a show in Hyderabad despite pushback from Singh and other right-wing activists over his joke and remarks over religion and politics.
A case was also registered against T. Raja Singh and at that time only, the Telangana BJP unit suspended the Goshamahal MLA T. Raja Singh.
