Amaravati: For the first time in Andhra Pradesh’s history, district-wise development plans are being reviewed at the state level, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu announced on lednesday. Addressing the second and final day of the District Collectors’ Conference at the State Secretariat, he emphasized that if district collectors formulate and implement structured development plans, the state’s progress will accelerate significantly.
The Chief Minister highlighted Andhra Pradesh’s five power hubs, designating Visakhapatnam, Rajamahendravaram, Amaravati, Tirupati, and Anantapuram as key zones for economic growth. He stressed that with district-specific strategies, development in each zone would lead to overall state prosperity.
Each zone has been assigned a senior officer, while each district has a designated in-charge minister. CM Naidu directed them to conduct regular reviews and field visits for on-ground assessment and real-time problem-solving. Starting next month, senior officers will spend 3-4 days each month conducting grassroot-level inspections.
Reflecting on past criticism, CM Naidu recalled how, 30 years ago, he advocated for tourism as a key economic driver, despite opposition from Communist leaders. He reiterated that tourism requires minimal government funding but generates significant economic benefits, contributing to poverty eradication.
The Chief Minister urged district collectors to understand and implement his vision, emphasizing that real-time execution at the local level would bring transformational results for Andhra Pradesh.
