Visakhapatnam: Andhra Pradesh has a clear roadmap to become the number one state in India by 2047, according to IT and Electronics Minister, Nara Lokesh. Speaking at the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Infrastructure Summit in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday, Lokesh outlined the state’s ambitious development plans under the leadership of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.
The Minister emphasized the state’s focus on decentralization, with different districts being developed as hubs for specific sectors. He announced that Kurnool will lead in renewable energy, with a goal to generate 72 gigawatts in five years, while Anantapur will become an automobile hub and Chittoor and Kadapa will focus on electronics industries. Biofuel production is set for Prakasam, and aqua farming will be promoted in the Godavari districts.
Lokesh highlighted Visakhapatnam’s development as the state’s IT capital, with plans for an international data center. He also announced the progress of the Visakha-Chennai Industrial Corridor and the development of North Andhra as a pharma hub.
Infrastructure projects, including the Bhogapuram international airport and various ports, are advancing rapidly, aimed at enhancing connectivity and boosting the economy. Lokesh also stressed the importance of distributing wealth generated from these projects for all sections of society.
The state aims to create 20 lakh jobs and will soon announce new policies to attract industries. Lokesh called upon industrialists to partner in the state’s growth journey.
