Hyderabad: Renowned cine astrologer Venu Swamy has come forward to support Sritej, a young boy severely injured in the recent stampede at Sandhya Theatre. Visiting the hospital where Sritej is undergoing treatment, Venu Swamy assured the family of his full support and announced several measures to aid their recovery.
Speaking to the media, Venu Swamy revealed that many had suggested conducting a “Mrityunjaya Homa” for the boy’s recovery. Acting on their advice, he pledged to perform the ritual in Sritej’s name at his own expense. He conveyed the same to the boy’s father, Bhaskar, during his hospital visit.
In addition to the ritual, Venu Swamy extended financial assistance of ₹2 lakh to Bhaskar’s daughter to alleviate the family’s struggles. “As a priest who has worked on nearly a thousand films, I feel a sense of responsibility to give back to society. Having earned through cinema, it is only right to support those in need,” Venu Swamy stated.
The astrologer’s gesture has brought hope to the victim’s family as they navigate this challenging time. The incident has drawn attention to the safety concerns at public events, urging stakeholders to prioritize preventive measures.
