Mangalagiri: Amidst lingering uncertainty surrounding the selection of the Machilipatnam Parliament candidate, Jana Sena Chief Pawan Kalyan brought clarity to the situation on Saturday by declaring sitting MP Vallabhaneni Balashowry as the chosen candidate.
Balashowry, who emerged victorious in the 2019 elections under the YSRCP banner, secured a resounding mandate. However, he later parted ways with YS Jagan’s party and aligned himself with the Jana Sena.
The announcement by Pawan Kalyan came after a period of speculation, during which the Machilipatnam seat remained undecided in the list of candidates released earlier. Initially, the names of several industrialists were under consideration, but ultimately, Pawan Kalyan opted for Balashowry to represent the constituency.
Meanwhile, the Jana Sena Party disclosed that significant competition surrounds the Avanigadda and Palakonda seats. To finalize the candidates for these constituencies, the party has initiated an IVRS survey to gauge public opinion and ensure the selection of suitable candidates.
