Byreddy Rajasekhar Reddy, a former Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP,) is expected to soon join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP.)
According to sources, C.M. Ramesh and Adinarayana Reddy, members of the BJP, reportedly invited Byreddy Rajasekhar Reddy to join the Party after he resigned from the TDP.
Ramesh and Adinarayana even conducted a secret meeting with Rajasekhar Reddy and discussed about him joining the BJP.
The secret meeting was held in Delhi with BJP leaders. During the meeting, the leaders also discussed the issues in Rayalaseema region of Andhra Pradesh.
It is reported the joining of Byreddy Rajasekhar Reddy was approved by Amit Shah, the Home Minister of India and the President of the BJP.
Speaking about the reason behind Byreddy switching parties, it could be the recent defeat of the TDP in the 2019 Assembly elections. The TDP was defeated by the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP.)
This is not the first time Byreddy Rajasekhar Reddy tried to join another party. Recently, after the TDP lost the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections, Reddy approached the YSRCP. However, Byreddy Siddhartha Reddy, the nephew of Byreddy Rajasekhar, refused to accept him in the Party.
An official announcement regarding Byreddy Rajasekhar Reddy joining the BJP is yet to be made.
