In Andhra Pradesh, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officials conducted raids at the residence of Ms. Savitha, a leader of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP.)
According to sources, the raids were carried out by CBI officials from Bengaluru, in the Penukonda region, amid suspicions of financial irregularities and money laundering. During the raids at Ms. Savitha’s house, crucial documents were seized for investigation.
Notably, the CBI authority is inquiring about financial transactions related to TDP leader Savitha, in connection with irregularities in the railway contract works. It is to be noted that TDP leader Ms. Savitha’s husband Mr. Venkateswara Rao is a railway contractor.
The case against the TDP leader Ms. Savitha was registered in Karnataka, following which the CBI officials reached Satya Sai District, Andhra Pradesh, for the raid. Prior to the raid, neither the Andhra Pradesh Police nor the Andhra Pradesh CBI officials were informed about the raid.
The CBI officials are still searching the house of Ms. Savitha and raid is underway.
