Chandrababu Naidu Criticises AP Government, Says YSRCP Is Ignoring 2nd Wave Of COVID-19

Nara Chandrababu Naidu, the President of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) on the 8th of October, criticised the Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy led Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP.)

Mr. Naidu said the Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy led Government was not taking any preventive measures over the threat of possible second wave of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 pandemic in Andhra Pradesh.

The TDP President expressed the need of few arrangements to control the spread of the virus, as Andhra Pradesh is reporting a minimum of 5,000 new cases.

Chandrababu Naidu termed it as unfortunate that while Prime Minister Narendra Modi was raising awareness on physical distancing and mask wearing, Jagan Mohan Reddy was not taking preventive measures.

Mr. Naidu said instead of controlling the situation, the YSRCP Government is keen to reopen schools, theatres and liquor shops regardless of the threat of infections.

Making his opening remarks at the ‘apfightscorona’ online forum Mr. Chandrababu said, the Government should give equal emphasis to the fight against the deadly virus along with the economy revival measures.

Mr. Naidu also highlighted A.P. stood number 2 in the number of infections in India and number 1 in virus cases per lakh population.

The TDP supremo said a cluster-based approach would be necessary to effectively prevent the disastrous impact of the 2nd wave infections.

Stating that the vaccine was expected by the end of the year (2020) N. Chandrababu Naidu said that even then, the economic impact would remain there for one or two years more.

The Governments should rescue the helpless sections of society from this humanitarian crisis.

The www.apfightscorona.com started by the Telugu Desam Party (TDO) was the first of its kind platform to highlight the plight of people who lost their jobs and incomes due to the Novel Coronavirus.

He said that over 1,005 distressed people have reported their problems on the TDP website.

Most of these respondents lost their jobs and are facing financial problems.

Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh has a total of 7,34,427 positive cases of COVID-19, of the total 49,513 are active cases, 6,78,828 recovered/discharged cases and 6,096 are decreased cases.
