Amaravati: Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu emphasized that Andhra Pradesh will lead the nation in terms of law and order. During the release of the White Paper on Peace and Security in the Legislative Assembly, he announced plans to review politically motivated cases and punish officials who filed illegal cases. Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan requested a more in-depth discussion on law and order, to which CM Chandrababu responded positively. The CM warned NDA members against actions that could embarrass the government, stating that anyone disrupting peace and security would be punished.
CM Chandrababu also announced the establishment of a separate department for social media to combat obscene posts against women. He warned that even NDA members would face consequences for such actions. The CM criticized the previous YSRCP government’s rule, accusing them of undermining democracy and misusing the police force. He cited instances where police colluded with YSRCP leaders and mistreated those who opposed the ruling party, including keeping officers in Vacancy Reserve (VR) for years without postings.
Chandrababu highlighted the misuse of the police system and mentioned the numerous cases filed against him and other leaders under the previous government. He pledged to restore integrity to the police system and uphold democratic values.
