Vijayawada: On Global Tiger Day, Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Environment and Forests, Mr. Pawan Kalyan, underscored the importance of protecting tigers to ensure the preservation of forests and ecological balance. Speaking at a program held at Aranya Bhavan in Mangalagiri on Monday, he highlighted the state’s commitment to taking special measures for tiger conservation. A poster commemorating Global Tiger Day was also released during the event.

Pawan Kalyan emphasized the cultural significance of wildlife in India, stating, “In Indian culture, every animal belongs to the Vasudhaika family. Forests are a part of our culture, and the animals there are very important to us. We have to take responsibility for their conservation. As the Minister of Forestry, I am fully committed to protecting the forest wealth and wildlife of the state.”

He urged authorities to develop conservation plans aimed at increasing the tiger population in the state’s tiger reserves. Specific measures will be taken to enhance the tiger corridor from Srisailam to Seshachalam, including robust actions against poaching and awareness programs for locals on wildlife conservation. Additionally, Pawan Kalyan addressed the issue of plastic pollution in forests, particularly around Srisailam Kshetra, advocating for eco-friendly spiritual journeys for devotees.
