The State Disaster Rescue Force (SDRF) and the National Disaster Rescue Force (NDRF) are continuing the search operations to recover the bodies of the victims of the Devipatnam boat mishap.
On the 15th of September, a boat carrying 60 passengers capsized, leading to the death of approximately 46 passengers due to drowning in the Godavari river, Andhra Pradesh (AP.)
As per the latest updates, the SDRF and the NDRF recovered a total of 28 bodies so far and approximately 18 bodies are yet to be traced.
Gautam Sawang, the Director General of Police (DGP) of Andhra Pradesh, on the 17th of September, conducted an aerial survey of Kachhuluru, Andhra Pradesh.
DGP Sawang also visited the rescued victims who are undergoing treatment at government hospitals.
Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh (AP,) on the 16th of September, also announced ex gratia of Rs. 10 lakhs for the families of the deceased, 3 lakhs for the injured and 1 lakh for the survivors.
The search operations for the remaining 18 bodies are still underway.
