Disha Rape Case – SC Organised Committee Reaches Hyderabad To Investigate Encounter

On the 3rd of February, a three member committee, appointed by the Supreme Court (SC,) arrived at Hyderabad to investigate Disha rape and murder case encouter.

The Committee headed by V.S. Sirpurkar, Rekha is going to investigate the case and role of the team of the Telangana Police which encountered the four accused in the Disha rape case.

The Supreme Court ordered to provide Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) security to the committee when in Hyderabad.

On the 6th of December, 2018 , V.C. Sajjanar, the Cyberabad Police Commissioner along with his team, encountered the four accused.   According to the Telangana Police, the accused were trying to escape, when they were taken to the crime spot for recreation, following which the police team opened fire at them and killed them.

The four accused  were, Mohammad Arif, Chintakunta Chennakeshavulu, Jollu Siva and Jollu Naveen.

The committee of the three members would be living in Hyderabad during the course of their investigation.  The committee’s expenses would be borne by the Telangana Government.

The committee is expected to submit a report regarding the investigation within six months.
