Nara Chandrababu Naidu, the President of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP,) is scheduled to tour Tenali in Guntur district, Andhra Pradesh (A.P.)

During his visit, Mr. Naidu is going to meet farmers who are protesting against the splitting up of the State capital.  Amaravati was to be the sole capital city, but now Visakhapatnam and Kurnool would also be the State capitals.

The Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Government announced A.P. would have 3 capitals.  The State Government passed two bills regarding the same. The two bills related to A.P.’s capitals were the Andhra Pradesh Decentralisation and Inclusive Development of all Region Bill, 2020 and the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority Repeal Bill, 2020.  However, the construction work of the State capitals was stopped for a while as the approval of the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha is pending.

On the 4th of February, Chandrababu Naidu, along with a few TDP leaders, would visit Tenali’s deeksha camp, where the A.P., Joint Action Committee (JAC) is continuing its agitation.

Mr. Naidu would reach Anglakuduru and from there, he would join the JAC at the camps organised at the Municipal market in Tenali.

Later in the day, the TDP President is also scheduled to conduct a meeting with the JAC leaders and urge the citizens to join them in their protest against the State Government.

Stay tuned for further updates.
