The Superintendent of Police (SP) of Guntur Urban, Ammi Reddy was transferred on the 1st of June.
On Tuesday evening, Adityanath Das, the Chief Secretary of Andhra Pradesh (A.P.,) issued a notice regarding the same with immediate effect.
The sudden transfer decision of SP Ammi Reddy was due to the involvement in the Raghurama Krishna Raju case. According to the sources, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Member of Parliament (MP) complained against the Guntur Urban SP Ammi Reddy, Secunderabad Military Hospital Registrar K.P. Reddy and Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) JEO Dharma Reddy with the Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. He also submitted relevant evidence along with his written complaint. Therefore, acting as per the orders of the Central Government, the Andhra Pradesh Government took action and transferred Mr. Ammi Reddy immediately.
It is to be noted, SP Ammi Reddy was the officer who filed a sedition case against MP Raghurama Krishna Raju and arrested him.
As of now, SP Ammi Reddy has been asked to report to the Director General of Police (DGP) Gautam Sawang at the Mangalagiri Police Station. However, in the coming days, SP Ammi Reddy is likely to be posted somewhere else.
Meanwhile, after the transfer of SP Ammi Reddy, the Additional SP of Guntur Rural and Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB) Arif Hafeez has been given additional duties as the SP of Guntur Urban.
