HC directs the government to pay Rs.75 crores for court complex

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh High court expressed shock over the state government’s false submission over sanction of Rs.30 crores for the development of court buildings. Court denied making any comment on this.

High court bench of Chief justice of AP High court Dheeraj Singh Thakur and Justice Raghunandan Rao passed orders on Wednesday, The court directed the government to deposit Rs.30 crores state government share by March 13, 2024.

Advocate general Sri Ram apologized to the court for delay in payment of bills. One Devireddy Rajasekhar Reddy resident of  Gannavaram moved the high court on the delay in construction of a court complex at Vijayawada.

Court asked special government pleader Suman over the deposit of money. Suman submitted to the court that the money will be released after the High court uploads the bill.  

The HC bench questioned the GP then why the government submitted to the court that it already cleared the bill. Advocate general interfered and submitted to the court that administrative issues resulted in the delay in payment and sought some time.

The bench directed the government to pay Rs.45 crores union government’s share and Rs.30 crores state government share within a week.
