The Janasena party, on the 29th of August, decided to file a counter petition in the Andhra Pradesh High Court (HC.)
The petition was filed against the relocation of the Andhra Pradesh state capitals.
The Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Government in 2019 December, proposed to have three State capitals.
While the Executive Capital would be Visakhapatnam, Legislative Capital would be Amaravati and Judiciary Capital would be Kurnool.
The Janasena Party has issued a statement to this effect.
The state high court has directed the political parties to file within three weeks if they want to file a counter case on the capital issue first.
Pawan Kalyan, the President of the JanaSena Party, on the morning of the 29th of August conducted a teleconference with other party leaders regarding the same.
Pawan Kalyan said, “The Janasena Party has been expressing a clear view from the outset on capital relocation and decentralization of government offices.
More than 28,000 farmers have given up their crop fields on 33,000 acres of land on Amaravati to make it the State Capital after trusting the State Government.
JanaSena is adamant that thousands of farmers who have been given their lands should not be treated unfairly under any circumstances.
In addition, the previous Government, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) already started the construction for the capital city in Amaravati.
A few more structures are in various stages. That means the public has already spent for capital. We have been saying that eco-friendly capital construction should take place.
Pawan Kalyan said,”Public interest litigation has been filed on the issue of capital evacuation at the present moment. We are constantly reviewing the consequences for them. The Hon’ble High Court has directed that counter-filings be filed in these cases. We will file the counter. We will stand responsible until the end in this case. Today we know the views of party leaders. We will counter the advice of legal experts and their cooperation within the deadline.”
The teleconference was attended by party political affairs committee chairman Nadendla Manohar, party general secretaries Thota Chandrasekhar, T Shivashankar, Bolishetti Satya and Pawan Kalyan political secretary P Hariprasad.
