Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, on the 1st of October, issued a press release, conveying his thoughts about Mahatma Gandhi.
Mr. Reddy said Mahatma Gandhi’s ideals and principals are his inspiration to run his Government. He said the Navaratnalu scheme launched by the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) is inspired by Gandhi’s words, “The soul of India lies in the villages.”
Jagan said Mahatma Gandhi is the inspiration for all the development schemes and programs in Andhra Pradesh.
Jagan Mohan Reddy said, “Bapuji’s life is real meaning for truth, non violence and peace. On the occasion of his 150th birthday, his dream of ‘Grama Swarajya’ has become true through the AP government’s ‘Village Secretariat’ system.”
He also highlighted the step of AP Government towards establishing an alcohol free State and said in September, the AP Government closed 43,000 belt shops and reduced the alcohol shops from 4,380 to 3,500.
Jagan Mohan Reddy concluded the release and said Mahatma Gandhi is the most respected freedom fighter.
The 2nd of October marks the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation.
