Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on the 2nd of October, visited Rajghat and paid tribute to Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, also known as Mahatma Gandhi, on his 150th birth anniversary.
Mr. Modi recently devoted an event to Mahatma Gandhi in the United States and celebrated his birth anniversary with Indian-Americans.
On the 2nd of October, India will celebrate the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, who is also known as the Father of the Nation.
After paying tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat, the resting place of Mahatma Gandhi, PM Modi visited Vijayghat to pay homage to late Lal Bahadur Shastri. The 2nd of October 2019 is also the 115th birth anniversary of Lal Bahadur Shastri, the 2nd Prime Minister of India.
Later in the evening, Mr. Modi will fly to Sabarmati Ashram, Ahmedabad and declare the Country open defecation free.
India will celebrate Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary in a grand manner in every state. Several events are planned to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Gandhi.
Amit Shah, the Home Minister of India, will also launch the ‘Gandhi Sankalp Yatra.’
In Sri Lanka, the Government decided to celebrate Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary and made arrangements for the same.
