Guntur: Resignation of Mangalagiri MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy (RK) for his MLA post and YSRCP had become sensational. While RK maintained silence on his resignation, opposition parties started targeting YSRCP.

MLA RK played a key role in YSRCP between 2014 to 2019. He challenged a number of decisions taken by Naidu’s government in courts. RK defeated TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh at Mangalagiri in 2019 and expected ministry. However, party chief and CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy didn’t consider him.

RK once again expected ministry in cabinet expansion held in April 2022 and again was disappointed with the party’s decision. He stayed away from party activities for a while after TDP leader and former MLA Ganji Chiranjeevi joined YSRCP. Recently Chiranjeevi inaugurated his party office at Mangalagiri without intimating RK.

Party also announced CHiranjeevi as incharge of the constituency and heading to announce him as candidate for 2024 elections. RK opined that he was not suitable for politics and hence tendered resignation for his post.
