Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Minister for IT, Electronics, and Education, Nara Lokesh, announced the formation of a consultative forum to facilitate direct communication between investors and the government. This announcement was made during the Southern Region Council seminar of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) held in Vijayawada on Saturday.

Lokesh emphasized that the primary goal of his government is to generate 20 lakh jobs across the state. The forum will provide a platform for investors to address concerns and streamline problem resolution with the government. A Government Order (GO) to formalize this forum will be issued within a week.

Lokesh highlighted the challenges faced by investors due to previous changes in government policies, specifically mentioning the revocation of power purchase agreements. He stated that such policy shifts had negatively impacted both the state and the country, and the consultative forum aims to prevent similar issues in the future.

The seminar attendees expressed a positive response, with many investors showing interest in expanding operations in Andhra Pradesh. Lokesh reassured them that his government will create the necessary infrastructure, incentives, and support ecosystem to encourage investment.

Additionally, Lokesh announced the revival of the Economic Development Board (EDB), which was previously dissolved by the YSRCP government. He confirmed that a young IAS officer has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead the EDB’s efforts.
