The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Working President Mr. Nara Lokesh got arrested today, the 16th of August.
Mr. Nara Lokesh and other TDP leaders including Mr. Anand Babu and Mr. Prathipati Pulla Rao were arrested after a clash between the TDP and the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) broke out. The incident took place at the Government General Hospital in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh (A.P.)
According to sources, the TDP Working President visited the GGH Hospital to meet the family of Nallapu Ramya, who was stabbed to death.
Recently, on the 15th of August, a 20 year old B.Tech student Nallapu Ramya was stabbed to death. She was murdered by a native of Mutluru Village identified as Kunchala Sasi Krishna, 22 years old.
The reason behind the brutal murder is suspected to be love interest and revenge. According to the police investigation, the duo (Sasi Krishna and Ramya) met on the social media platform, Instagram and soon became close friends. However, after six months of being together, Sasi Krishna suspected her to be cheating on him and had a fight on the morning of the 15th of August. After a huge fight, he slit her throat and killed her.
The incident soon became a huge matter in Andhra Pradesh, demanding justice for Nallapu Ramya.
As of now, Sasi Krishna has been arrested from Narasaraopet and is under police custody. The police have charged him under several relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the investigation is underway.
In regard to the same, Nara Lokesh also met with the family of the victim and assured justice to their kin. He even criticised the ruling YSRCP Government led by Mr. Y.S. Jahan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of A.P. victi
Nara Lokesh took a dig at the ruling Government and said, the YSRCP Government is unable to provide safety and security to girls and women, resulting in such incidents. It is to be noted, the incident has sparked a political row with the constant criticism of the opposition, regarding the leadership and ruling capabilities of the YSRCP.
The opposition TDP staged a protest and demanded compensation of Rs. 1 crore to the family and justice for the victim.
Soon, the matter intensified and the protest turned into a clash between the YSRCP and the TDP, following which the Guntur Police took action and arrested Mr. Nara Lokesh.
