Amaravati: The Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA) will draft a new master plan within four months, announced AP Urban Development Minister Narayana. Speaking after a meeting with Visakhapatnam MLAs and officials, he stated that the revised plan would incorporate public and leader suggestions.
The minister also revealed that tenders for the Visakhapatnam Metro Rail project would be finalized by the end of May 2025. Additionally, he highlighted the ongoing Financial City Visakha Master Plan review, ensuring that future urban planning aligns with development goals.
Addressing past concerns, Minister Narayana pointed out irregularities in the issuance of Transferable Development Rights (TDR) bonds, with over 600 pending cases in Visakhapatnam. He directed the Visakhapatnam District Collector to expedite their clearance.
The minister also assured that road connectivity to Bhogapuram Airport would be developed without any disruptions. He criticized the previous YSRCP government for deviations from the original master plan, stating that corrective measures would be taken to restore planned urban growth.
