Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister K Pawan Kalyan, who is also the Pithapuram MLA, is set to launch and inaugurate development works worth around Rs 1,500 crore during his two-day visit to the constituency. The projects cover drinking water, roads, drainage, coastal protection, fishermen’s welfare and women’s empowerment.
On Monday, Pawan Kalyan will dedicate the renovated Nagulapalli Comprehensive Protected Drinking Water Scheme. The Rs 9.59-crore project is expected to provide drinking water to about 97,000 people in 52 villages across U Kothapalli and Pithapuram Rural mandals.
Other key projects include a Rs 307-crore multi-village water supply scheme, Rs 200 crore for underground drainage, Rs 80 crore for Gollaprolu water works, and Rs 118 crore for a Road Over Bridge in Pithapuram. A Rs 323-crore coastal protection wall is also planned at Uppada to tackle sea erosion.
The visit will also include support for fishermen and Rs 120 crore in loans for self-help groups to promote women’s financial independence.
