RGV Issued Fresh Police Notice in Obscene Post Case

Ongole: Film Director Ram Gopal Varma (RGV) has once again been served a police notice in connection with a case related to alleged obscene social media posts. The Ongole Rural Police in Prakasam district issued the notice via WhatsApp, directing him to appear for questioning on February 4. However, RGV responded that he would be busy with film shooting on that date and suggested the possibility of appearing on February 7 instead.

This is the third notice issued to RGV in this case. Previously, he failed to appear despite multiple summons. After approaching the High Court, he was granted anticipatory bail, with the court directing him to cooperate with the investigation. Following this, the police have renewed their summons.

The case originates from the promotion of RGV’s movie ‘Vyuham’ before the general elections. TDEPA general secretary Ramalingaiah of Prakasam district’s Maddipadu mandal lodged a complaint, alleging that RGV had shared obscene posts targeting TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu and Janasena president Pawan Kalyan. Based on this complaint, police registered a case and are proceeding with the investigation.
