Tirumala: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has lodged a police complaint against social media representatives spreading false rumors about renowned spiritual scholar Chaganti Koteswara Rao. TTD clarified that allegations of disrespect towards Chaganti were completely baseless and aimed at misleading devotees. Complaints have been filed at Tirupati University Police Station, as well as Delhi and Vijayawada PIB. Additionally, TTD has approached YouTube Meta Management to revoke licenses of social media platforms propagating misinformation.
According to TTD, Chaganti Koteswara Rao was granted approval for a sermon at Mahati Auditorium on January 16, alongside Tirumala Srivari Darshan on January 14. As per his cabinet rank protocol privileges, special arrangements, including battery vehicle access and biometric entry, were made. However, Chaganti declined the VIP facilities, choosing to visit Srivari Temple through the Vaikuntham queue complex like a regular devotee.
TTD further clarified that, due to crowd control concerns following the January 8 stampede-like incident in Tirupati, the scheduled discourse was postponed with Chaganti’s consent. TTD has called for legal action against those spreading false claims, stating that such misinformation damages its reputation.
