R.K. Roja, the Chairman of the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC,) on the 16th of November, announced the launch of a “Swachh Nagari” programme.
R.K. Roja, the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) of Nagari, initiated the Swachh Nagari programme to fight the use of plastic in Andhra Pradesh.
Ms. Roja, a member of the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP,) started the initiative in Nagari. She briefed the residents of Nagari about the danger of using plastic and urged them to participate in the programme and avoid plastic.
R.K. Roja also took to her Facebook page to announce the initiative. To attract the public of Andhra Pradesh, she further declared a bumper offer for the people. She said if the residents bring 1 kg of plastic, she would give them 1 kg of rice. She posted the offer with the slogan “No plastic, new Nagari.”
The ‘Swachh Nagari’ programme was launched on R.K. Roja’s birthday, the 17th of November and would continue till the 21st of December, which is Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s birthday.
