The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) is going to set up an anti power theft police station in Siddipet, Telangana.

The anti power theft power police station would address all the major issues pertaining to power theft, which are currently handled by the Telangana State Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (TSSPDCL.)

The new anti power theft police station would be headed by an Inspector of Police (IP) rank officer.  The IP officer is expected to report to the Managing Director of the TSSPDCL.

On the 15th of November, the Finance Department of the TRS Government issued an order and sanctioned the police station.  Meanwhile, the Home Department of Telangana also approved the formation of the police force under the IP rank officer.

After the new police station is set up, cases related to power theft would be handled by the new team of police officers posted at the anti power theft station.

The K. Chandrashekar Rao led TRS Government also decided to have 148 additional posts at the Telangana State Power Generation Corporation Limited (TSGENCO.)

The 148 posts would include one deputy superintendent of police (SP,) 10 assistant commandants (from the Armed Reserve or Telangana State Special Police,) 12 inspectors, 14 sub inspectors, 36 head constables, 31 male constables and 44 women police constables.

However, an official announcement about when the anti power theft police station would start functioning is yet to be made.
