After the recent Mandal Parishad Territorial Constituency (MPTC) and the Zila Parishad Territorial Constituency (ZPTC) elections results announcement, a notification for the ZPTC And MPTC Chairman elections was also issued.
In the early hours of the 20th of September, the State Election Commission (SEC) issued a notification for the election of Zilla Parishad (ZP) Chairman, Vice Chairman, Mandal Parishad Presidents (MPPs), Vice Chairmen and co option members.
It is to be noted, on the 19th of September, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party, won the ZPTC and the MPTC elections with a majority of votes.
Till the evening of the 19th of September, the ruling party secured 627 ZPTCs and 8,075 MPTCs seats.
While the YSRCP won 80 % of the seats, the opposition, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) won only 6 seats, whereas the Communist Party of India (Marxist) secured one seat. The ZPTC and the MPTC Polls were conducted for 660 seats and 9,590 seats on the 8th of April.
According to the issued notification, the election for MPP and ZP chairpersons is scheduled on the 24th of September and the 25th of September, respectively.
MPTC President And Vice President Election Schedule:
The notices on special meetings to all MPTC members is to be issued by the 20th of September. Receipt of nominations for the election of Co-option member in the Mandal Parishad would be taken by 10:00 A.M., on the 24th of September. Scrutiny of the nomination papers would be done in an hour and withdrawal of the filed nomination would be till noon. The swearing in ceremony of the elected members would be at 1:00 P.M., and the decision of electing the MPTC Chairman would be at 3:00 P.M., during a special meeting.
ZPTC Chairman, Vice Chairman Election Schedule:
Notices regarding a special meeting to ZPTCs would be done by the 21st of September, receipt of nominations for the election of two Co-option members by 10:00 A.M., of the 25th of September. Scrutiny of nominations, withdrawal, election between 10:00 A.M., to 1:00 P.M. At 1:00 P.M., swearing in ceremony of co option members would take place and later at 3:00 P.M., election of the ZP Chairperson and two Chairmen would be held.
It is to be noted, only ZPTC and MPTC members would vote for the election, as no Members of the Legislative Assembly would be allowed to vote. MLAs are only allowed to attend the ZPTC and MPTC meetings as special invitees.
An official notification regarding the ZPTC and MPTC Chairman, Vice Chairman and Co option members were issued by Ms. Nilam Sawhney, the State Election Commissioner of Andhra Pradesh.
