Vijayawada: Fight for Vijayawada West assembly ticket intensified at Janasena and TDP alliance as elections are nearing. Both the parties are confident in winning the seat and started protests demanding the seat. Former MLA Jaleel Khan launched a huge protest along with minorities on Wednesday demanding Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan to allocate seat to him in minority quota.
Vijayawada West assembly constituency has a great significance. Former minister Vellampalli Srinivas is sitting MLA and YSRCP shifted him to Vijayawada central constituency following anti-incumbency. Asif is placed as incharge of the party and almost confirmed his candidature.
Telugu Desam and Janasena are still in doldrums to confirm their candidate. Jansena is expecting the seat for the BC leader and party’s city president Pothina Venkata Mahesh, who has a strong following locally. Mahesh launched a door to door campaign in the name ‘Intintiki Jansena’ in October 2023 and almost covered the constituency. He is confident about his seat and intensified the campaign.
Meanwhile, former MLA and TDP leader Jaleel Khan is strongly lobbying for the ticket. He met Pawan Kalyan recently and requested him to support his candidature.
On Wednesday, Jaleel Khan took part in a protest along with minority leaders demanding seat.
