Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh government has decided to hold the last session of assembly from February 5 to February 7. State cabinet on Wednesday decided  the schedule of the assembly sessions.

The sessions will start with the governor’s address on January 5 followed by the budget introduced by finance minister Buggana Rajendranath Reddy.

Elaborate discussion on the budget presented before the house will be taken up on January 6 and January 7, 2024.

State government is eyeing to pass a few key bills and proposals in the sessions. Governor Abdul Nazeer will highlight the preferences of the government and readout various welfare schemes taken up by the government in the last five years.

Opposition parties are gearing to expose the failures of the state government since it is the last session. “YS Jagan’s government failed to fulfill its promises. Government added a huge burden on the common people and increased the price of power and essential commodities. We will become the voice of common people and question the government,” said TDP Palakollu MLA Nimmala Ramanaidu.
