After the recent stone pelting incident and attack on the convoy of Mr. Nara Chandrababu Naidu, the National President of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP,) the party urged the Director General of Police (DGP) of Andhra Pradesh, to take action.
On the 8th of November, Tuesday, Mr. Varla Ramaiah, the TDP Politburo member wrote a letter to the DGP Mr. K.V. Rajendranath Reddy to take action against workers and police officials, in regard to the attack on Mr. Chandrababu Naidu’s convoy at Nandigama. In his letter, Mr. Varla Ramaiah said though there were a series of attacks targeting opposition party leaders by the ruling YSRC, no action was forthcoming from the police.
Mr. Varla Ramaiah said, “In August 2019, (a) drone was flown over the residence of Naidu, who is under Z plus category security. In November that year (2019,) stones were pelted on his convoy. In November 2021, YSRC MLA and his henchmen tried to attack our chief’s residence. However, no action was taken by police.”
In addition, he highlighted the recent incident of attack on Mr. Chandrababu Naidu’s convoy, followed by stone pelting in Nandigama, Mr. Varla Ramaiah said, the incident was a security breach and failure of the local police, although they were informed about the visit of Mr. Nara Chandrababu Naidu in advance.
The TDP also criticised the local police for working as per the directions of the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Government and saving YSRCP workers, involved in stone pelting and attack incidents.
