On the night of the 20th of August, the Telangana Medical department released a media bulletin regarding the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 cases.
According to the Telangana Health Department’s bulletin, after reporting cases below 1,000 for two days, Telangana reports new cases is above 1,500 cases for the four continuous days.
The Telangana Health Department confirmed 1,967 new cases of COVID-19 with 8 fatalities and 1,781 recoveries.
Of the total 1,967 new cases, 16 were from Adilabad, 21 from Bhadradri, 473 from areas under the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation ( GHMC.)
Other places include 81 from Jagtial, 22 from Jangaon, 12 from Jayashankar Bhupalpally, 55 from Jogulamba Gadwal, 55 from Kamareddy, 86 from Karimnagar, 79 from Khammam, 15 from Komaram Bheem Asifabad, 29 from Mahabubnagar, 26 from Mahabubabad, 40 from Mancherial, 24 from Medak, 170 from Medchal Malkajgiri, 11 from Mulugu, 27 from Nagarkurnool, 60 from Nalgonda, 14 from Narayanpet, 19 from Nirmal, 69 from Nizamabad, 35 from Peddapalli, 29 from Rajanna Sircilla, 202 from Rangareddy, 38 from Sangareddy, 49 from Siddipet, 28 from Suryapet, 16 from Vikarabad, 21 from Wanaparthy, 26 from Warangal Rural, 101 from Warangal Urban and 18 from Yadadri Bhongir.
With these updates, Telangana has 99,391 positive cases, of which 21,687 are active cases, 76,967 are recovered/discharged cases and 737 deceased.
Though the cases are increasing by more than 1,500 cases everyday, the spike in active cases is less than 200. On the 20th of August, there were 21,509 active cases and on the 21st of August, despite 1,967 new cases active cases increased by only 178 with 21,687 active cases.
Out of the 21,687 patients, 15,332 patients are under home isolation and 6,355 are in institutional care.
Meanwhile, the Telangana Health authorities conducted 26,767 tests till the night of the 20th of August. Of the total tests, COVID-19 results of 1,300 samples are pending.
So far 8,48,078 samples have been tested for the Novel Coronavirus infection in Telangana.
With the everyday spike in the Novel Coronavirus cases, the recovery rate in Telangana is now 77.43 % from the previous 77.17%.
In addition, mortality rate is 0.74 % from the previous 0.75%.
The growth rate of the COVID-19 infection is 1.91% from the previous 1.92%.
