Sathyavathi Rathod, Minister of Welfare of the Telangana Tribe, informed the Assembly on Thursday that the TRS government has approved 94,774 Pattas (on Podu lands) for eligible tribes which from 2008 3 03970 hectares under recognition of forest rights (ROFR ) cover.
Ms. Rathod responded to questions from members in-house during question time, saying since the inception of ROFR in 2005, 1,84,730 claims have been received relating to 6,31,850 acres. From that, field research was done and issued to Pattas, she said.
The Minister said that since 2018, 27,000 claims have been made in respect of 98,745 hectares for ROFR Pattas, of which 2,401 claims relating to 4,248 hectares are eligible and 9,976 claims relating to 40,780 hectares, not by the District Level Committee (DLC) was not taken into account.
About 15,558 claims regarding 53,565 acres are still pending before DLCs.
