Telangana Reports 2,479 Fresh COVID-19 Cases With 10 Deaths

On the 8th of September, Telangana recorded 2,479 new cases of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19.

Of the total 2,479 new cases, 31 were from Adilabad, 83 from Bhadradri Kothagudem, 322 from areas under the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC,) 79 from Jagtial, 35 from Jangaon, 14 from Jayashankar Bhupalpally, 23 from Jogulamba Gadwal, 94 from Kamareddy, 120 from Karimnagar, 94 from Khammam, 24 from Komaram Bheem Asifabad, 40 from Mahabubnagar, 67 each from Mahabubabad and Mancherial, 34 from Medak, 183 from Medchal Malkajgiri, 22 from Mulugu, 54 from Nagarkurnool, 108 from Nalgonda, 14 from Narayanpet, 43 from Nirmal, 101 from Nizamabad, 71 from Peddapalli, 67 from Rajanna Sircilla, 188 from Rangareddy, 64 from Sangareddy, 88 each from Siddipet, 96 from Suryapet, 16 from Vikarabad, 33 from Wanaparthy, 34 from Warangal Rural, 124 from Warangal Urban and 46 from Yadadri Bhongir.

Meanwhile, deaths due to the COVID-19 infection reached a total of 916 with 10 new fatalities and recovered cases stood at 1,15,072 with 2,485 new recoveries.

With these updates, Telangana has a total of 1,47,642 positive cases, 31,654 active cases, 1,15,072 recovered/discharged cases and 916 deceased.

Of the 31,654 active cases, 24,741 patients are in home and institutional isolation while 6,913 are in institutional care.

According to the media health bulletin released by the Telangana Health department, in the past 24 hours, the State conducted a total of 62,649 COVID-18 tests.

However, the results of 2,430 samples are still to come. Overall, so far authorities have conducted 18,90,554 tests in the State.

The recovery rate of Telangana also improved and is currently at 77.9 %. In addition, the fatality rate of COVID-19 in the State fell to 0.60% from the previous 0.80 % and average growth rate is 1.80 %.
