K.T.Rama Rao, the Information Technology, Electronics and Communications Minister of Telangana, on the 9th of September, spoke about expanding innovation in the agricultural sector under the Innovation-Hub (I-Hub) with ICRISAT.

During the Monsoon Assembly session, Mr. Rao said the Telangana Government is planning to make the agricultural sector digital and link all the Rythu Vedikas with the internet services.

Mr. Rama Rao said, technology will be used to disseminate information such as pest control , when to sow and harvest through the Rythu Vedikas.

Mr. Rao said,“The number of startup companies has increased from 400 to 2000 plus. And the T HUB encouraged 400 companies to launch corporate innovations.”

He further added, approximately 1,120 startups have managed Rs. 1,800 crores as investment and given employment to over 2,500 people till date.

These growth and development in the startups was seen after 2015, when the Telangana Government launched the T (Technology) Hub.

According to Mr. Rao 3.50 lakh square feet facility T HUB 2, is under construction at cost of Rs. 276 crores.

The T Hub 2 is being built in Rayadurgam and would be ready by the end of this year.

Mr. Rao said, “This facility can house 1000 start ups at the same time.”

Explaining the expansion of T Hub in two tier cities, KTR said,“In fact, Hubs are being established in Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Khammam and Warangal cities which would concentrate more on social and rural innovation. We will also show case success stories in corporate innovation.”

Hyderabad is one of the fastest developing city in terms of IT sector and T Hub. The first T Hub was established in 2015, a year after emerging out of Andhra Pradesh as an independent State.
