Mr. Y.V. Subba Reddy, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) Chairman, finally spoke about the corruption charges levied against the Srivani Trust. 

Addressing the media on the 22nd of June, Mr. Y.V. Subba Reddy denied any kind of misuse of funds by the trust at the TTD.  He said political leaders are making baseless allegations against the Trust for their own political gains.  Furthermore, the TTD Trust Board released a white paper to counter the corruption allegation charges.

According to Y.V. Subba Reddy, the Srivani Trust has generated an income of Rs. 861 crores as of the 31st of May in 2023.  He furthermore clarified that all the transactions were made through banks and are legal tenders.  He also praised the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) which came into power in 2019 and made efforts to enhance the TTD in Tirupati.

Mr. Y.V. Subba Reddy revealed that Rs. 120.24 crores were spent on the construction and renovation of temples.  Mr. Y.V. Subba Reddy said that the YSRCP Government is renovating 127 ancient temples in Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and other states, at a cost of Rs. 139 crores.  In addition, the YSRCP Government in Andhra Pradesh has set aside Rs.  227.30 crores for the construction of 2,273 temples in tribal areas.

Y.V. Subba Reddy advised political leaders to refrain from making unwarranted allegations against the Trust and tarnishing its reputation.  Notably, the remarks of Mr. Y.V. Subba Reddy came after the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) alleged corruption in the usage of Srivani Trust funds.
