Chittoor: The Chittoor police have arrested two accused, including the prime suspect, in the murder case of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) worker Ramakrishna. Chittoor SP disclosed that Venkataramana, the main accused, and Reddappa Reddy (A5) were taken into custody, while special teams have been formed to track down the three remaining absconding suspects.
According to the police, Ramakrishna was murdered to intimidate political rivals. Investigations revealed that accused Reddappa Reddy is a close associate of former minister Peddireddy. Authorities found evidence suggesting that the suspects had contacted a senior YSR Congress Party leader before committing the crime. The SP stated that the murder was linked to land encroachment and threats, indicating that Ramakrishna was targeted for opposing illegal activities in the area.
The brutal killing took place on March 15 in Krishnapuram village, Punganur mandal. The police have intensified their efforts to arrest the remaining accused and ensure justice in the case.
