The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy convened a special meeting on the Badvel by-election. The meeting was held on the 30th of September in Tadepalli Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) office ans was attended by Minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy, the Party General Secretary Mr. Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, the Badvel YSRCP candidate Dr. Dasari Sudha and YSR district Members of Parliament (MPs,) the Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) and other public representatives.
During the meeting, Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy discussed the strategy to be followed on the by elections and gave directions to leaders.
On the 28th of September, the Election Commission of India (ECI) released the schedule for Badvel Assembly constituency by election in Andhra Pradesh.
The by election for the Badvel Assembly constituency is scheduled to be held on the 30th of October.
According to the ECI announcement, the election notification for the by election would be released on the 1st of October, the nomination for the by election would be on the 8th of October, scrutiny of the filed nomination would be on the 11th of October, withdrawal of nomination would be on the 13th of October.
The by election for the vacant post of the Badvel Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) would be held on the 30th of October. The counting of the votes would be held on the 2nd of November, following which results would be announced.
The Badvel Assembly constituency MLA seat fell vacant after the demise of Dr. Venkata Subbaiah, the former MLA of the constituency.
So far, only the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) announced the name of its Badvel Assembly constituency election candidate. Ms. Sudha, the wife of late Dr. Venkata Subbaiah would represent the YSRCP in the by election. The nominees of the other political parties are yet to be announced officially.
In addition, the alliance of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the JanaSena Party is said to take a final stand on the Badvel Assembly constituency by election soon.
As of now, both the TDP and the YSRCP are eying to win the by election and are going to campaign for the MLA seat.
