On the 24th of August, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Government deposited a compensation amount in the bank accounts of AgriGold victims.
On Tuesday, Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, released Rs. 666.84 crores, benefiting 7,00,370 people. This is the second phase compensation money released under the leadership of Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.
In 2015, approximately 32 lakh people invested less than Rs. 10,000 or 20,000, adding a total of Rs. 7,000 crores in a company named AgriGold. Of the total 32 lakh investors, 19.5 lakh people were from Andhra Pradesh. The company, which was established in 1995 duped the people and abscondedheir money.
The incident took place under tunderrnance of the former ruling party, thpartyesam Party. However, in the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly election campaigns, the YSRCP promised to provide compensation to the AgriGold victims. In order to complete their manifesto promise, the YSRCP Government released the first installment to the people, who deposited below Rs. 10,000 in November 2019. In the first phase, the YSRCP led Andhra Pradesh Government released Rs. 238.73 crores in the bank accounts of 3.40 lakh victims.
Now, a year later, the Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy Government released the second installment of compensation money to 7 lakh victims. The people who deposited Rs. 20,000 in the AgriGold company would get a compensation in the second phase.
The official Twitter handle of the YSRCP took to the micro blogging platform and tweeted, “ప్రైవేట్ సంస్థ బాధితులకు న్యాయం చేసిన దాఖలాలు దేశంలో ఎక్కడా లేవు. పేద ప్రజలు నష్టపోకుండా ఉండాలనే బాధ్యతగా తీసుకున్నాం. అగ్రిగోల్డ్ బాధితులకు న్యాయం చేస్తున్నాం. : సీఎం వైయస్ జగన్
