On the 10th of August, Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh (A.P.,) released the funds for the YSR Nethanna Nestham scheme.

The Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Government released Rs. 192.08 crores. Under the scheme, the State Government would provide financial assistance of Rs. 24,000 to each handloom weaver in the State.

In 2021, the YSRCP Government’s scheme would benefit 80,032 families. The released amount of Rs. 192.08 crores would be directly transferred to the bank accounts of the eligible weavers.

Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy launched the scheme virtually at his camp office in Tadepalli, Andhra Pradesh.

Speaking at the launch occasion, the Andhra Pradesh CM said, “For the third year in a row, we are providing financial assistance through Nethanna Nestham.” He further added, “We are helping each handloom family at the rate of Rs. 24,000 without giving space to corruption.”

According to sources, the scheme started in 2019, when the YSRCP Government came into power. Under the scheme, the Y.S. Jahan Mohan Reddy led Government extended financial help to eligible weavers and handloom workers in the State. In the past two years, the State Government released a total of Rs. 383.99 crores. In 2020, the YSRCP Government released Rs. 194.46 crores, benefiting 81,024 families.

In this year, the State Government released Rs. 192.08 crores, making it a total of Rs. 576.07 crores so far. The scheme would continue till 2024, providing a financial assistance of Rs. 1,20,000 to each beneficiary in the span of 5 years.
