Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, is scheduled to visit Anantapur district on the 26th of April, Wednesday.
The State Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) confirmed that during the tour, Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy would disburse the installment for one of the welfare schemes offered by the State Government. Notably, at an event in Anantapur, Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy would release amount for the Jagananna Vasathi Deevena welfare scheme. Under the scheme, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Government would release an amount of Rs. 912.71 crores. Released by the State CM, the money would be directly deposited into the bank accounts of 9,55,662 mother beneficiaries. With the help of the released money, the single mothers, eligible under the scheme would ensure the education of their kids.
As per the State Government, so far, Rs.4,275.76 crores have been deposited to the beneficiaries bank accounts.
The Jagananna Vidya (Vasathi) Deevena scheme was launched in 2020. Under the scheme, approximately 12 lakh poor students are getting the benefit of free higher education. An amount of Rs. 15,000 to 20,000 per year, depending upon the degree, would be credited directly to the bank accounts of the student’s mothers in Andhra Pradesh. Nearly 12 lakh bank accounts are registered which would get the amount. Students pursuing Polytechnic, Degree, Engineering, and Other PG Courses are eligible to apply for the scheme.
