On the 9th of February, Wednesday, Glenmark Pharmaceutical launched Nitric Oxide Nasal Spray for Coronavirus infected adults. According to sources, the Spray under the brand FabriSpray would be available In India for people having a high risk of progression of the Wuhan virus disease.
The company shared a tweet after the launch, which read, “Glenmark launches Nitric Oxide Nasal Spray(FabiSpray®)in India for treatment of adult patients with #COVID19, in partnership with SaNOtize. It received manufacturing-marketing approval from India’s drug regulator for Nitric Oxide Nasal Spray as part of the accelerated approval process.”
Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Limited (Glenmark) and Canadian pharmaceutical company SaNOtize Research & Development Corp together studied the medicine and launched COVD-19 medicine. The company got approval from the Drugs Controller General of India, following which it was launched for the public.
Notably, in July 2021, the company proposed to the subject expert committee of CDSCO for emergency approval for the import and marketing of the nasal spray.
