On the 3rd of January, Tuesday, the Union Health Department, confirmed a rise in the cases of the Wuhan Virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19.)

According to the data released by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW,) India registered 134 new COVID-19 cases with 222 recovered cases and 2 fatalities.  It is to be noted, in the past 24 hours, the Wuhan Virus cases witnessed a massive jump in the rise for active cases. 

The new numbers of the COVID-19 infection were confirmed after conducting 1,51,186 sample tests, taking the COVID-19 tests tally to 91.12 crores, said the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR.)

Furthermore, with the updated data of the Wuhan Virus, India has 2,582 active cases, 4,41,45,667 recovered/discharged cases and 5,30,707 deceased cases.

In addition, in India, 45,769 vaccine doses have been administered in the last 24 hours and the recovery rate currently stands at 98.8 per cent. As of now, the daily positivity rate stands at 0.09% and the weekly positivity rate stands at 0.13%.

After a massive outbreak of COVID-19 in China, nations like the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Brazil, Canada, Australia and India are on red radar in terms of the Wuhan Virus cases.

To ensure and combat the deadly virus spread, on the evening of the 2nd of January, Monday, the Union Ministry of Home Affairs issued a fresh set of guidelines, including mandatory RT-PCR Negative reports for international passengers.  The Union Government also urged the people of India to be cautious and follow all the COVID-19 protocol.
