On the 11th of December, India’s Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 tally surged 9.7 millions. 

In the past 24 hours, the Nation recorded 29,398 new COVID-19 cases, 414 deaths and 37, 528 recovered/discharged cases.

The COVID-19 cases were confirmed by the Union Health Ministry on the morning of the 11th of December. In addition, the data are available on the official website of the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW.)

With the aforementioned update, India has 97,96,770 positive cases, of which 3,63,749 are active cases, 92,90,834 are recovered/discharged cases and 1,42,186 are deceased cases.

As per the MoHFW data, Maharashtra, Delhi, West Bengal and Kerala continue to add the most number of cases of COVID-19.

Kerala, Maharashtra and West Bengal reported more than 2,000 cases in the past 24 hours, contributing to the highest COVID-19 cases to the Nation.

Meanwhile, India continues with the increased number of sample tests for the Novel Coronavirus infection.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) total number of Covid-19 samples tested up to the 10th December is 15,16,32,223 including 8,72,497 samples tested in the past 24 hours.

On the other hand, highlighting progress on the vaccine front, nearly one crore health care workers, two crore frontline workers including the police and armed forces, and about 27 crore people above the age of 50 years and those less than 50 years with associate comorbidities would be vaccinated in January- February 2021.

The aforementioned groups/categories of people would get the COVID-19 vaccine on priority basis and availability basis.

The COVID-19 vaccine is likely to be ready by the first week of January.
