On the 4th of August, India reported 42,625 new cases of the Wuhan virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19.)
In addition to the 42,625 new cases, the nation registered 36,668 recoveries and 562 deaths in the past 24 hours. The new COVID-19 figures were confirmed by the Union Health Ministry on the morning of Wednesday, whereas the updated data is available on the official website of the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW.)
It is to be noted, compared to the cases of the 3rd of August, India reported a rise of 12,076 cases of the Novel Coronavirus. On the 3rd of August, India reported 30,549 new cases, which is 42,625 cases the next day.
With this, currently India has 3,17,69,132 positive cases, of which 3,09,33,022 are recovered/discharged cases, 4,10,353 are active cases and 4,25,757 are deceased cases.
Of the total cases,129 % are active cases, 97.37 % are recovered case rate and 1.41 % fatality rate.
The new cases were confirmed after conducting 18,47,518 sample tests for COVID-19. According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), a total of 47,31,42,307 samples have been tested for COVID-19, including 18.47 lakh tests, conducted in the past 24 hours.
Meanwhile, so far a total of 48,52,86,570 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in India. Of the total doses administered, 62,53,741 doses were given in the last 24 hours across the nation.
